How the G2 Score works
At the core of G2’s rankings is the G2 Score, a unique metric that evaluates products within the same category. This score is built on two essential factors:
- Satisfaction: Based on verified user reviews and real-world feedback.
- Market presence: Reflects a company’s overall influence, considering aspects like size, social presence and market impact.
By combining these two factors, G2 delivers an objective, trustworthy evaluation, helping businesses identify the most reliable and effective software solutions in any category.

Unitrends in action: How we helped GRMC recover in minutes
Gila Regional Medical Center (GRMC), a county-owned, not-for-profit medical center based in New Mexico, faced significant challenges with its previous data backup solution. John Little, Enterprise System Architect at GRMC, explains why the organization decided to switch to Unitrends, “We had a Backup Exec solution that was implemented prior to my employment. The solution was archaic, non-scalable and didn’t really perform to my expectations.”
After evaluating multiple vendors, Little found that Unitrends offered not only a simple and effective backup and recovery solution but one that aligned seamlessly with GRMC’s cybersecurity and data protection policies.
To strengthen GRMC’s data protection strategy, Little deployed a Unitrends Recovery Series physical appliance in their main data center, along with a second appliance at a remote site for added redundancy. He also leveraged a Unitrends RXDA removable hard drive array, which allowed the team to create physical backups and easily transport them between locations for enhanced disaster recovery.
Shortly after installation, GRMC was hit by a ransomware attack. Thanks to Unitrends, the team was able to respond quickly and effectively. “While I can’t release details, we did have an incident involving ransomware that affected several of our systems. And utilizing our Unitrends data protection infrastructure, we were able to respond, contain and eliminate the infection, and recover in a matter of minutes!” Little reports. “With our old data protection solution, this would have taken days,” he concludes.
